Against the snow this white squirrel looks fashionably winter white but I’m sure this little one is just trying to stay warm. For readers in far away places, we got roughly 15 or 20 cm of snow yesterday inside of town – more closer to the lake – and it’s still coming down. The answer to your second question is yes, we really do have white squirrels, although they are genetic mutations rather than albinos. They are in the grey squirrel family and a litter could contain a mixture of black, grey and white squirrels. There are two or three of these fellows living in my backyard at any given time. Enjoy your Sunday and stay warm!
